I was recently introduced to Swagbucks by a fellow travel blogger. I am always on the lookout for ways to earn extra cash to help us travel more and still provide well for our family and others. I’ve earn $50 in a couple months so I wanted to reccommend it to others.
What is Swagbucks?
Swagbucks is an online site where you can earn ‘Swagbucks’ doing a variety of online activities which translate into cash and gift cards.
From here on, I will use SB for Swagbucks.
On swagbucks.com, create a personal account and then earn SB through a variety of activities.
You can earn SB doing these activities:
- Shop
- Watch online video lists
- nCrave (watching content)
- Discover (watching content or signing up for offers)
- Surveys
- Playing games
- Search engine
Bonus SB
There are also many opportunities to earn bonus and extra SB. Each day you start with a “To Do” list. If you complete 6 of the activities you get a bonus 1 SB if you complete all 8 you get a bonus 8 SB. They offer a daily goal of a certain # of SB and if you reach that you get a few bonus SB. If you reach your daily goal for 7 days in a row, you get even more bonus SB. At the end of each month, you receive all of your daily goals (and you have to claim it, so come back to claim them!)
How to earn SB Daily
At first, I was earning mere pennies a day and I didn’t think it was worth my time or effort. But as I’ve played around with the site a bit more I am making $1-$2/day with 10 minutes of my time. You still may think that $1/day isn’t much, but that is $365 in a year, which IS a lot!
In order to not spend too much time doing this, and get the maximum results, I will walk you through what to do each day on SB.
I have the site on my bookmarks, so I quickly pull it up. I go to my daily to-do list on the far left. I open a window for each of the tasks on that list.
I answer the Daily Poll (1 SB), click on the Search bar (1 SB) and click on the Deal of the Day (1 SB). I close those windows immediately after looking at them.
Pick a short playlist on the Watch screen to earn 1-3 SB. I let that play on the side.
In the nCrave, I click on ‘like’ or ‘not for me’ when the timer runs down.
Click over to the Discover window. Scroll down to “Explore Web content and Earn”. Scroll to the right and find EngageMe TV. There are several EngageMe.tv videos: food, viral, movie trailers, movie review and app videos. These can play these at the same time (in separate windows). These just continuously play IF the window is big enough to show the width of the video (if not, you have to keep your mouse on the screen for it to play continuously.) Every 9 videos you earn 1 SB up to 50 per day.
I click back to nCrave and click on ‘like’ or ‘not for me’. After completing 3 of these videos, click ‘keep craving’. Usually, if I do a couple more activities here it takes me to a playlist in discovery mode, that continuously plays and every 10 mins of videos you get another SB.
Attempt a Survey. Usually, I am disqualified (and still earn 1 SB), but if I do qualify I can earn a lot more based on the time of the survey. Be honest and consistent with your answers, so you are giving quality feedback and you’ll be rewarded!
This should take about 5-10 minutes. Now you have 5 windows left up. You have some EngageMe.tv videos playing, a discovering nCrave window, and a Watch window continuously playing videos. Plus, I keep my homepage up so I can check my progress. I refresh the page to see if I completed the to-do list (or at least 6 of them) and I track to see if I am on task for your daily goal.
If you aren’t sure if you are earning SB click on your points and see if it is increasing. Click on the SB and select ‘activity’ from the drop-down list. This shows where you earn each SB from.
If you make your default search bar Swagbucks, you can earn up to $15/month!
Also, you earn SB by shopping through many online stores. Usually, 1%-12% on every $1 you spend online.
How to redeem SB
There is no minimum amount of SB to cash in. You typically get $1 for every 100 SB, but there are sales to get a better rate on some gift cards. They offer Paypal gift cards (which essentially can be transferred to your bank account and is just like cash). There are Amazon, Target, Starbucks, Walmart even Mastercards gift cards available. Perfect for affording your holiday shopping. The more you earn, the better the deals are in redeeming your SB! I bought a $25 Amazon gift card for 2200 SB.
Set this up in the morning. Then let it play. I will check in keep it going or start new videos if it is frozen.
